day 156

This is a beautiful barn on one of my favorite bike routes. I first took Laura by this barn a few weeks ago. Yesterday we were able to go on a ride but when we reached the road the asphalt had been removed and replace with tar and stone. Disappointed, we turned around.

As we made a detour into Fortville Laura got a flat tire. And we couldn’t repair it on the road. She had to wait while I rode back and then drove to pick her up.

Even though I made sure Laura was safe it’s a helpless feeling when you’re 15 miles away from home and walking home isn’t an option. We both had a choice at that point. We could have let it sour our moods and ruin the rest of the day. I believe everyone has a choice with how they react to situations. Most people I’ve watched are completely reactionary and don’t control their thoughts or emotions in difficult or unexpected circumstances. But we all have a choice.
