I love walking through the woods. It’s such a stark contrast from my normal day to day of busy highways, crowded subdivisions and commercial shopping areas. It’s quiet and full of layers just waiting to be explored. Deep in the woods there’s a carpet of leaves and, if you’re lucky to be there at the right time, there’s a blanket of flowers that pop out of the brown and greens of the woods. The dead and decaying come together with the new life in the most organic and natural way which presents a beauty like none other.
In the dense trees the sunlight is tinged green from the leaves but these colors still stand out and grow in their own unique places, from seeds dropped by birds and other animals. It’s even more stunning because it wasn’t over planned or organized. It simply grew where it was planted. Something certainly to think about as we try to control everything in our lives.
