I have had this picture in my mind all winter. I knew I would be able to capture it at just the right moment- an early spring morning when the cherry blossoms aren’t fully in bloom- just a burst of pink against the brown branches. I love seeing those pops of color emerge and light up everything around me. Maybe this stands out to me because I have been used to looking at the shades of browns and grays for months and then bright, vibrant colors seemingly come out of nowhere. It’s like nature is tired of dreariness and all of a sudden victoriously bursts alive with flowers, color and life. Before we know it the heat of summer will be on us and these flowers will fade as a distant memory. But for now, in the crisp cool spring morning, we can breathe deeply and take in this new life all around us.
